Hidden charges

I recently was forced to change the packages that my 4 numbers are on as the current packages do not exist anymore. I am now being charged per number for changing the contracts. At no point was I informed that there were extra costs involved for being forced to change the packages. I have been a loyal MTN customer for 28 years and this is how I get treated.
