Held hostage by MTN after contract expired

<p>Despite complying with the 30 day notice period, and after that waiting till the expiry of my two contracts, MTN fails to migrate my numbers to pre-paid. On the 6th of Oct 2016 a call was logged to MTN’s 808 call centre to request migration to pre-paid. Tag # ********** 40 was logged, and I was cc’d in the email to MTN’s Retentions department. I was advised that termination would be within 2-24 hours. By the 7th of Oct 2016 around lunch time nothing had happened. I followed up with another call to 808 and tag # ********** 88 was issued by operator Princess. Later that afternoon after no call back from Princess’s supervisor, I again phoned 808 and the call was again answered by Princess. I insisted on speaking to her supervisor. The call was transferred to Uthman. He undertook to escalate my issue and later return my call. This return call recording is available as proof. The contract would be suspended and migrated by midnight on the 7th. By today (Monday the 10th of Oct2016) still the issue had not been resolved. Again I phoned 808, and was transferred to Senzo the supervisor. He sent me an email apologising, and promised migration “today or latest tomorrow” and “termination backdated to the 6th and no further contract charges to you”. I am utterly disappointed and frustrated with the lack of support from MTN. The call centre operators also will tell you whatever is required to buy your silence. From “2-24 hours” to “you will keep all your contract minutes and data after migration”. All lip service while they keep you hostage after contract expiry!</p>
