Handed over after receiving a CREDIT.

So, I have been a loyal customer of MTN for a number of years and decided not to renew my contract at the end of the term.

In July 2016 I sent an email informing MTN of the non-renewal and received confirmation that my account would be moved over to Pre-Paid once the contract ended. The reference number I received was # ********** 2 with the final confirmation received from MTN on the 11/07/2016

My July Debit Order went off without a hitch as usual on the 30th July :

Debit : 30 Jul Magtape Debit MTN Sp A ********** ********** 784 for R541.40

Then in August I received both a Credit and a Debit:

Credit : 26 Aug Magtape Credit Mtnsa Refund for 511.39 Cr

Debit : 31 Aug Magtape Debit MTN Sp A ********** ********** 768 for R511.40

As the last debit had gone off, I cancelled the MTN debit order on the 1st of September.

And that was the last I heard from MTN in any way, shape or form.

Jump forward 5 months and I receive a call from Hammond Pole informing me that my account had been handed over for collection as it was unpaid. Their reference number HP ********** . I was furious, upon asking the contact person what the amount was for and the supporting documentaion Hammond Pole was unable to produce thes docs. I called MTN and they then sent me a statement showing the credit and the outstanding amount.

So in essence, because of the Credit MTN passed in error I now have a Handed Over mark on my ITC record. I find this unacceptable since at no time was I contacted by MTN.

I would like the status on ITC removed and an appology letter indicating that the account was handed over in error since I was never notified of the outstanding amount. This is in contravention of the NATIONAL CREDIT ACT of 2005 Section 129 & 133

I do expect a call from MTN's Legal department as I have not been able to contact them.

Thanks
