Gross Service Failure: Broken Links, Broken Promises - Order MTNPC-935297KQP***
I am beyond frustrated with the absolute lack of professionalism and service delivery from MTN South Africa and their logistics partner, DSV Logistics.
On 27 March 2026, I placed an order for an MTN 5G Home Router (Ref: MTNPC-935297KQP***). I chose this specific service because MTN explicitly guaranteed a 1–3 working day delivery timeframe. This wasn't just a suggestion—it was confirmed:
On the Product Page before purchase.
On the Order Confirmation screen once the transaction was finalized.
In the specific Terms and Conditions for this product selection on the MTN website.
Despite my payment being instant (Bank Card via PaySec/SISA validated), which removes the need for any "vetting" delays, both companies have failed to honor their side of the agreement.
The Support Nightmare:
Radio Silence: I have received zero email or telephonic updates from MTN or DSV.
Dead-End Digital Channels: Navigating MTN’s website is a lesson in futility—it is riddled with broken links and pages constantly "Under Maintenance."
Social Media Neglect: Reaching out via Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) has yielded no results. These profiles seem to be for marketing only, with no actual customer support capacity.
Call Center Failure: I have spent over 50 minutes on hold across multiple calls, and despite requesting callbacks, I have heard nothing.
I have already initiated the cancellation of my current ISP (effective 01 May) based on MTN's delivery promises. I am a remote professional; internet connectivity is my livelihood. To be told by a consultant that delivery is actually "5–7 days" after I have already paid and agreed to a "1–3 day" contract is a bait-and-switch tactic that violates your own T&Cs.
MTN and DSV: I expect an immediate delivery update and a confirmed tracking number today. This level of incompetence is a disgrace to both brands.
- Vetting is Void: This was a pre-paid card transaction, validated instantly via SISA. There is no credit risk to vet. The contract was executed the moment the funds were captured.
- Advertised Terms: The MTN product page, the checkout screen, and the specific T&Cs for this 5G Home Router offer explicitly guaranteed 1–3 working days for delivery.
- Current Status: As of today, 31 March 2026, we have reached the end of that 3-day window. MTN is now officially in breach of contract.
- Digital Infrastructure: Your website is currently a maze of broken links and "Under Maintenance" pages, making self-service impossible.
- Telephonic Negligence: I have spent over 50 minutes on hold (two calls of 25+ minutes each) with no resolution and no return on my requested callbacks.
- Social Media Silencing: My outreach on X, Facebook, and Instagram has been ignored, suggesting those channels are used for marketing rather than actual customer accountability.
- An official complaint lodged with the National Consumer Commission (NCC).
- A formal report to ICASA regarding service misrepresentation.
- The escalation of my current HelloPeter review (which is already live) to include these latest attempts at gaslighting via support scripts.
