I have never seen a company so utterly out of touch with their clients. <br> Here is the story. I have two phones that were ****** in the beginning of the month. I am paying close to a R1000 a month for my contracts at MTN, for the past 4 years. My phones are insured with my home insurance. The insurance paid out the value of my phones, I would like to Upgrade my to a new contract to get a decent phone as the phones value has fallen in the last 2 years. MTN says that I have to pay R9000 to end my contract because I can not upgrade yet. I am willing to pay this R9000 with the insurance money but MTN says I will loose my number if I go to another provider. Here are my options. 1 buy a below average phone 2 Pay R9000 and go to a different provider but with a new number for the first time in 15 years. I am sorry MTN, after four years of debit orders and R9000 cash you wont let me upgrade or keep my number???? The lender phone I am using cant even accept calls. This is ridiculous.
