Getting sms saying data depleted when it is not
On Friday 11 December I received an sms saying that my data is depleted and I am being charged out of bundle rates. I checked my balance via phone with the balance number given and received a message saying that I have been billed R1.45 out of bundle and still have R198 of R200 left. This message made no sense to me. I phoned MTN customer services this morning who verified that I still have lots of data remaining Then she put me through to Data Support who told me that this message was sent out to millions of customers and in my case this is an error. This is very frustrating as then it means that I have to phone in and check when everything is fine. Please do not treat your customers as faceless numbers as this is bad service. If you send an sms make it individual by including the account number being referred to. We are all busy people and do not have the time to run after senseless messages from MTN. I cannot even opt out of this generalised faceless service.
