MTN sent me an sms promoting a student package, which I signed for fully online include banking details.

For three past three months they’ve been charged pro- rata rates, to my knowledge that should only be charged in month one. When signing up for the contract, bank statements etc was not taken from me neither did any consultant call me to explain the procedure or their T&c.

I finally went into store today and I can’t cancel because I will be charged an early cancellation fee and an enormous fee.

The contract was undertaken for 24 months! No where in their t&c did it state a 24 month contract!

If this isn’t sorted out I will lodge a complaint immediately with the consumer tribunal, MTN cannot trick UNEMPLOYED STUDENTS with their false marketing tactics and then continue to rob them.

Why am I paying R327 every month for a R130 package????
