GENERAL SERVICE NON-EXISTENT!!

I received an sms from MTN last Tue saying that my roaming service has been successfully added as requested. I tried to phone the call centre immediately as I did not request roaming activation &don't want to be billed for their mistake! The message said there's a high volume of calls &my call got dropped after a few min. I mailed MTN re. the issue on Fri, but have had no response. I tried visiting the MTN shop at Cresta yesterday & they couldn't help me as they were offline. I tried phoning the call centre again this morn &my call got dropped after holding on for 12 min. My husband then tried to phone the call centre on my behalf this morn & had to terminate the call after holding on for 38 min as he had to get back to work.

I'm concerned about being billed international rates for my current calls if roaming is activated. I haven't been able to see any details on roaming status when logging in on the website &can't seem to check my status on *111# which I found after a long search on MTN's site for how to check this. I'm also still waiting for feedback after logging a query with the call centre about my contract upgrade on 17 May, which I've tried to follow up on with no luck.

Thank you for taking time to raise your concerns with MTN.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as result of the lapse in service.

Kindly be advised that only International dialing is active on you line, this is a standard service which allows you to make international calls. You can only be charged for this service when you make use of it (making international calls).
