FRUSTRATED WITH MTN

Hello Peter complaint MTN charged me for data usage I did not use

I am extremely concerned about unexpected data charges on my MTN account. I have approximately five contracts with MTN and have always re**** on MTN’s normal data allocation, which is around 199.9 GB per month.

I am now being charged approximately R1,900 through my spend limit for data usage that I did not use. This amount is reflecting on my account even though I have not knowingly used this additional data.

What is particularly frustrating is that when I contacted Connectivity, they were unable to provide me with an itemised billing statement showing exactly where this data was used. However, the billing section is able to show an itemised local data usage of 211.37, which has been converted into a charge of approximately R1,053.00.

I do not understand how MTN can charge me for this data without being able to provide me with a proper itemised breakdown showing the dates, times, data sessions and services that resulted in these charges.

I am therefore requesting that MTN:

Provide me with a complete itemised breakdown of the 211.37 local data usage. Explain how this usage was calculated and how it resulted in the R1,053.00 charge. Provide a detailed breakdown of the approximately R1,900 spend-limit charges. Investigate whether these charges were incorrectly allocated to my account. Reverse/refund any charges for data that I cannot be shown to have actually used. Explain why Connectivity cannot provide the same itemised information that appears to be available in the billing system. I have multiple contracts with MTN and have been a customer who trusts the network to bill me accurately. I should not be expected to pay approximately R1,900 for unexplained data usage when MTN cannot provide me with evidence of how or when this data was consumed.

I would appreciate a proper investigation and a clear written explanation, together with the supporting itemised billing, before I am expected to pay these disputed charges.

MTN, please investigate this matter and provide the evidence supporting these charges.
