MTN has made it a point that I really struggle with porting my number to another network provider. So after the previous issues I have had, I was eventually able to cancel my contract and migrate it to pre-paid, meaning that I was ready to proceed with porting my number. While going through the process with my selected new network provider, I received an sms advising me that my current network has declined the request.
I then contacted MTN requesting clarity on the message received, the 1st person I spoke to on the number 173 referred me to the MTN Portline ( ********** ) where I stayed on the phone waiting for assistance for 30minutes before hanging up. I called 173 again, the 2nd person I spoke to, advised my that the initial lady gave me an incorrect number for the Portline, that the correct line was ********** . When I called this number, I got a message that this number was incorrect.
My 3rd attempt in calling 173, resulted in me being referred back to the number ********** . When I provided feedback to the lady on how long I had to wait when I initially attempted that number, before hanging up... her response "sorry you will just have to keep trying"
I did as I was told, and tried again calling ********** , and held on for 32minutes before hanging up.
All I am asking to do is just to port my number, I am sure this has been done before.
