Frustrated and annoyed
I don’t know how many calls I’ve made in relation to this matter and I am beyond fed up.
On the 9th March 2026 I app**** for the home WiFi for R349 pm which was delivered on the 10th March 2026.
The WiFi only connected the day I received it then days after that I was struggling to connect to it. So I decided that I will have to return the router as suggested by the MTN consultants as part of the procedure.
So I did that on the 30th March 2026 with everything that came with the router. I was assisted by the most unprofessional person Kearabetswe Motshegoa whom can be contacted on this number +***1 at the Shop 34, Standard Bank Centre, 291 Church St, Pretoria Central, Pretoria, 0012. I filled and signed the cancellation documents which I still have with me and this guy reassured me that the cancellation has been completed and it will take 5 days to reflect on the system. Weeks later when I contact him he suggests that you communicate with him through WhatsApp, but then he ignores your messages when you try to engage with him.
Now, to my surprise days later after returning the router, I’m being told via email that I will have to pay for March and April for this router that is no longer in my possession. When I try to call the MTN help line they keep telling me that my application has never been cancelled though I was assisted by someone from your MTN store. I even spoke to this other guy from retentions team named Liyema Plaatjie who said that I must head back to the store and be assisted, mind I’m based in Boksburg. I will not be wasting my money like that because of people who fail to do their job properly.
I’m tired of this back and forth, I need this to be sorted ASAP. I will never allow my name to be on a bad credit bureau record because of you MTN. I’ve been with MTN for almost two decades now, never have I thought that they will inconvenience me like this in my life.
