**********ly charging for Insurance on Contract

**********ly charging for Insurance and Refuses to Refund Premiums

MTN has been charging me for insurance cover AFTER I indicated that it is NOT required on the application form and AFTER I called to cancel it.

Application clearly indicates a NO for insurance. In February I called to cancel insurance, in March MTN removed the insurance, in April they charge me twice for March and April.

In May they cancel and who knows what will be billed next month.

MTN says the onus is on the customer to give them proof that they have requested insurance cancellation, why should I even cancel a service I never requested? You need to know when you called to cancel, who you spoke to on the phone, etc. MTN will not accept written proof that that the service was declined but wants proof of cancellation? How is this even legal?

EVERYONE needs to check their statements, I bet there are millions of **********ly charged insurance services. I am certainly not the only one.

I have lodged a complaint with the Insurance Ombudsman as well to get them to launch an investigation into this kind of theft.

Nobody deserves to feel cheated and ****** like this, it is truly shocking.

Thank you Alice. It's unfortunate that for months nobody could assist me in this regard. A pity that the claims department is adamant that the customer is responsible for payments irrespective on what was signed for. Would do the business a lot of good to revisit the message going to customers in this regard.
