**********ly changing payment particulars without consent

3 Months ago I was informed that my account has migrated from Autopage to MTN, due to the takeover. No further communication was received until my phone was suspended yesterday for non-payment.

Turns out that MTN had changed my payment method - which I consider ********** as NO instruction was given to MTN. My account had run for 8 years with Autopage with no payment problems EVER. MTN disconnected my phone yesterday as no payment had been received for 3 months, as the payment method was changed to cash and not the usual debit off my credit card (which is ALWAYS up to date) On my side I wasn't even aware there was a problem. Again - I consider this to be done **********ly as NO INSTRUCTION was given by myself to change my payment method

Called the call centre and insisted on speaking to a supervisor. I was abrubtly cut off by Mojaki Labatla who insisted from his side that the error was on my side and that I had to do a payment to be connected again and that no supervisor was on duty. (Perhaps that is why your business is in shambles as you haven't got your managerial staff working as they should) He further told me there there was no history on my account for him to see what previous payment methods were. Perhaps seeing as there is 'No History' on this account, I should cancel my service free of charge and give my business to a network who actually DOES care about clients with a good financial history?? This is impacting on A - my ability to spend time with my family after hours instead of being badly treated for over half an hour by your call centre and B - absolutely no ability to do business telephonically due to YOUR incompetence.

Absolutely BAD form on your side MTN. Please rectify this situation immediately and give me proper feedback on who authorised the change of my particulars

Good Day Mr Rudolf du Plooy,
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kindly note that we did not change your payment method however the method was changed when your account was migrated from the Autopage systems to the MTN systems. This means that the account was on Cash when it got activated on our systems. We are aware of how inconvenienced you were when your line was suspended and we sincerely apologise for that.
According to our records your account is now back on a debit order and an arrangement has been made for payment to go off your account month end.
Rest assured that it is not our intention to displease you and we look forward to continue improving on our service delivery to you.
Kind Regards
Itumeleng

Best regards,
Hi Itumeleng,
It seems that MTN is NOT going to accept that the slip-up was in fact due to their take-over of Autopage. I'm in receipt of an email from Auto Page clearly stating that the payment arrangements will “continue as usual - it even includes my banking particulars. Still passing the buck much?
Being the customer, one would expect that MTN will ensure a smooth transition, which was clearly not the case as many such complaints roams the internet.
Get your act together MTN or lose another customer…… still no call from MTN to explain what happened. You have my number…….
Unhappy ‘customer’
