Since September this year I have been receiving numerous calls offering me the latest iPhone 8 as my contract was up for renewal. I spoke to a Khanye and explained that I would wait for the iPhone X. On 12 November 2017 I received a series of smss advising that my contract was renewed and my package and billing update. I was extremely perturbed as I did not renew my contract. Further enquiries to MtN customer care showed that the contract was renewed at the Pavillion store and a handset was released. I have never been to the store. Again after much explaining I was told to forward an affidavit and identity doc to Karabo Tladi. I attended to this immediately and after a day called the customer care number .. again repeating my story and then being told that I cannot be helped. Also apparently I hallucinated the name K Tladi.. no mine like that exists. ( silly me). I called the mtn Pavillion store and spoke to a Samantha who advised that this is a frequent occurrence at the store. Again I googled customer care and sent them the affidavit and again, repeated my tale. I was asked to resend everything and send a copy of my id doc in pdf. Done. I’ve yet to receive a reply. I am now sitting with a contract I would never take and someone out there has my phone. The iPhone x will be launched in December or January and no one at Mtn wants to assist me. The unfairness of the situation is that I’ve had this contract for 20 years and I’ve never had an issue with mtn. Surely mtn can check who at their Pavillion Branch released this phone ? And how on earth did someone not check the details? Do I lay a charge of *****? If so against whom? Mtn I’ve supported you for years. Surely in my time of need you can do the same? Totally disappointed with the service I’ve received
