********** sim swap

MTN did a sim swap on an active number. I bought a new MTN sim card for my data as I am a Unisa student. MTN has me in the data base with Unisa students and sent me data on the 1st of June. I used the sim card from late May until the 30th of June when all of a sudden my sim card was put out of service because of a sim swap I did not ask for, apparently I was using a reassigned number so the person was allowed to do a sim swap on my now new number. This person used my data that was for my studies and MTN doesn't want to take responsibility for that, they said I should take it up with Unisa because allegedly Unisa authorised it, if that is so where did this person get my personal information to pass this sim swap. MTN knows this number was active before the sim swap, I'm very angry that no one gives me solutions when I call or will tell how this happened.
