********** MTN Insurance
Last year I upgraded from Samsung Galaxy S6 to IPhone 7 Plus and took out insurance for extra device. A couple of weeks back we had a house ******* and the Samsung S6 was ****** at home. Repored the incident, did the claim, brought all the required necessary documentation. And even did the sim swap.
I was then told my claim declined due to the fact that their system says the the last activity on my phone was in March. And I was told to get the itemized billing myself to prove the phone was in use.
What is more frustrating is that I’ve been tossed around when I call the call centre, call centre says go to the branch, the branch says they don’t do itemized billing. I must call the call centre. The other branch suggested that I should go to 14th Avenue head Office. The 14th Avenue said I must go to 300 Kent Avenue. I get there i was also told they don’t do itemized billing. I must write an email to ********** Realllly?
Should I be the one investigating my phone usage yet i’ve Been paying my premiums, and I know for fact that the phone is been in my possession and was in use on a daily basis till the day it was ******?
I can’t even begin to explain what a great inconvenience and headaches this has caused.
3 years back a similar thing happened when I was told I didn’t notify the insurer about the insured number after I did the upgrade and took extra insurance that I paid for without any default. I gave up chasing the claim and now this and still be expected the be a loyal MTN client?
What are we really paying insurance for? For the number or the device?
