***** of simswap that led to my ***** on bank account
Someone did a simswap on the 30 December 2020, I only realized it when I saw a strange transaction on my bank occount for R300. 00 I checked my phone it was offline. I phoned MTN and the lady who assisted me said she will escalate the issue and I will receive a call within 24 hours, which didn't happen. I followed up on the 6th of January and I was sent back and forth and I was advised to send the bank statement to customer service and the police affidavit so that MTN can investigate and refund my money which I did . On Tuesday the 12th I followed up and the guy who assisted me told me I was given the incorrect information MTN does not refund anyone I must dial a number where I Wil be able to pick up where the airtime was transferred as I will get a list of numbers. Then he said I must phone that number and ask them why they did a simswap and accessed my bank and bought airtime. I had 2 references from MTN that I was given by those to ladies before this rude guy assisted me. What ******* is it that I need to phone the person who did the simswop myself, why didn't MTN investigate the issue further as promised. I have used the number and the service since 2004 and I have never bought 300 Rands airtime. Why does your call center people tell different stories. I am beginning to think that MTN works with this ********* hance their customer service people has attitude. MTN stores it self at Northgate mall said to me the following day when I wen for assistance. Is your number prepaid, when I rep**** with a yes they simply say no wonder it happened. I asked the guy that is he implying that in order for MTN users to be safe we must have a contract, he said yes. I just left the store once again. I am highly disappointed and after resolving my query I would like MTN to take their number back. It's sad that I still have 2 contracts with MTN and I still have to pay them.
