I am the contract holder of an MTN account. I contacted the MTN Bedford Centre to pre book a phone, for collection on 19 March 2016. The consultant I spoke to was Bheki. I was however unable to go in for the upgrade. Strangely however my request was processed and a sim swap activated, of which I was alerted via sms.

I cancelled the sim swap via the option available on the phone, but upon calling the customer contact centre I was told that the sim swap had been activated successfully. I was further notified that my payment terms were changed.

It is strange that the ***** happened on the same day I had confirmed I would be coming in to upgrade, but this still went ahead without my knowledge.

I request that this matter be resolved speedily. All information was provided to mtn for the ***** case to be resolved speedily.

I would appreciate that this matter be resolved speedily, as this is a security risk on many levels as important notifications go through the MTN line. The level of *******ion at MTN as in recent reports is appualling.

Kind regards
Itumeleng
Best regards,
Best regards,
The matter was resolved.
It is concerning however that it appears that there is a target on customers who are due for upgrades. Recommend that MTN improves on its security systems, otherwise clients will move on to other more reputable service providers.
