Hi, it has just happened a second time!! Somebody took out a Mtn contract in my name in Gauteng at Carnival Mall. Last time it was at Kollonade Mall in Pretoria. I live in Vredenburg on the West Coast. This time for an amount of R899pm. I would like to know how the hell is this possible?? Obviously someone has a copy of my ID document. But don't they check proof of address, or do some other security check?? Every time I have to run around to get a copy of my ID certified and supply an affidavit to get is canceled. And go into the bank to reverse the dt order. This is totally unacceptable. What kind if company is Mtn not to have proper security measures in place. In other words, a person only needs a copy of your ID, as I have the original ID book with me, to take out a cellphone contract. No other proof that it is indeed you. Poor poor service. This has got to stop!!!! I honestly consider legal steps now!!!
