***** and then no help

Hi, I am living overseas and somehow someone **********ly opened an account with MTN using my banking details (how this could happen I cannot understand). One amount of approximately R900 was already deducted during the end of June and ABSA (my bank) have been no help at all telling me to sort out the matter myself with MTN.

Now upon contacting MTN (Glen Motladile from Customer Services) is telling me they cannot help unless I give them a case number from the SA police. How do you expect me to do this? Please stop deduction money from my account and repay what was **********ly ******ed.

Regards

Johan Lamprecht

Good Day Johan Lamprecht
Thank you for your post.
We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.
Kindly be advised that we require a sworn affidavit disputing the MTN contract and a clear certified copy of your ID. Please be advised that that you may ask someone close to you or a family member to assist you in getting an affidavit on your behalf from the police station, we will also require a letter from you stating this and a certified ID copy. Once we have received all the supporting documentation our ***** team will be able to investigate and conclude this matter.
Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery.
Kind Regards,
Zukiswa

Best regards,
Hi Zukiswa,
Thank you for your reply.
Please take note that you are wrong and that under no circumstances can someone else "get" an affidavit for me at the police station. The only thing that they can do is to make an affidavit in their own names. This would not be from me but if this is acceptable to you that I can do this. At best I can write an account of what happened and sign it and send it to you.
Secondly, under no circumstances can the police station certify a copy of my ID without having the original present. This would be ***** in itself and as I have my original withm me in Thailand the best case scenario is I send you a copy of my ID.
Please think carefully before replying as I do want to help but it seems you do not understand the extend to which you are making me jump through your bureaucratic hoops.
The ***** was against both of us, and ultimately you will suffer the most the longer this gets drawn out and rather than extending the problems lets seek to work together and resolve this issue.
Regards
Johan Lamprecht
PS It is almost the same time as when the previous ********** deduction was made on my savings account by yourself. Please make sure that it does not go through this month as you are aware of the problem.
