***** and theft by MTN
At the beginning of March this year I noticed that MTN had deducted and amount way in excess of my actual contract amount. I then checked previous months and found that this had also occurred in December and January. I immediately reported the matter to the MTN branch in Umhlanga. I was informed that two additional phones/numbers had been added to my contract and was given the details of the numbers the additional amount referred to. These numbers are unknown to me and on the MTN representative calling them appear to be inactive. I subsequently received a reference number and was told the query would be forwarded to the ***** department for investigation. I followed up after two weeks and was informed that queries take a minimum of 21 days to resolve. Imagine my surprise that even after reporting this to MTN and checking my debit orders today I find that they are still deducting the full amount (including the ********** amounts). I will today be laying ***** and theft charges against MTN at my local police station.
