***** amounting to R70k - no response from MTN

On 30 November, MTN debited R70k from my bank account. When I called into the customer service centre on 1 December to enquire as to how this happened, I was informed that 4 numbers had been **********ly added to my account, and that each had been maxed out to the credit limit on international calls, and that only R600 was owed from my number. I was asked to submit an affidavit, stating that I had not added these numbers myself, with a certified copy of my ID, to the MTN ***** department, which I did on 2 December. On 3 December I reversed the debit order to get the funds back into my bank account, but the amount of R70k is still showing as owed by myself to MTN. It is now 5 days later & I am yet to receive an email from MTN confirming receipt of the submitted documentation and 6 further calls to the customer care line have yielded no concrete feedback whatsoever. The numbers given to me to contact the ***** & legal departments are incorrect, so I am left not knowing what is going on with the investigation. The fact that MTN can have such weak processes & controls to allow ***** like this occur is one thing, but their inability to respond with any communication is unacceptable!!
