On the 2nd of October about 16:00 my father received a phone call from Mtn , the person who phoned him stated he was from MTN ***** department and that someone has committed ***** on my father’s phone number . My father , not being clued up with phones assisted this person by giving him the OTP number , not knowing he should not have done that , but this person did state his is from MTN so my father did trust him. My father then noticed something was wrong and he stated to this person he is going to MTN in York street because he now feels something is wrong, this person kept on saying No I am from MTN ***** and I will black list you now . My father then put the phone down , he rushed to MTN IN York street and Jessie assisted him. Jessie logged into my fathers MTN account and saw the person had lift my fathers account balance from R1 to R18 000 , and as she spoke to JHB head office they said the person already took R13 512 .

***** was committed with my father , he went to the George police station where he logged a case and he gave a written report and avadavat back to MTN where they logged a case . ( During all this time my father had to go back to MTN 6 times because they assisted him incorrectly ) Over the weekend of the 16th my fathers phone number was blocked due to payment that needed to be done , he again went to MTN in garden route mall and they stated he must pay R1000.00 to get the phone switched back on . He then stated his monthly fee is R360.00 and not R1000.00 so why must he pay a R1000.00 We are very unhappy with the poor service of MTN and that MTN expected my father to pay R18 000 od because someone in your MTN dealer committed ***** against my father .

I myself have a contact with you and so does my mother , and this will be the last time we will support MTN . I feel its unhuman , unhelpful and poor customer care and service that MTN can not sort this ***** case out , my father can barley sleep at night because where the hell must he get R18 000 to pay for something he did not do.

ther phone company’s tell me they don’t understand how MTN cant write it off for it is ***** not committed by my father,
