I went into a store on 25 Feb to enquire about a phone. The lady gave me papers to sign saying it is for a credit check as I didnt have a 3 months bank statement I would then come back to officially choose a phone once I have the bank statement. The lady gave me an email address to send my bank statement as I had told her that I would not have the time to come in the following Monday. A few weeks passed and the lady from the store called me to ask me about the contract. I told her that I do not have the time to come into a store at the moment she later said I should send my location to the number she called me with so that she could organise me delivery of the handset. This comes as a shock because this has been going on since last week with the lady sending me whatsapp meassages about the delivery of the phone telling me that the driver is not available. What also worries me most is that I did not pick a handset and I did not sign any official document about me agreeing to any price plan. Yesterday she told me that a friend of hers lives close to my area and she would give her the phone to come give to me. This seems rather strange and unproffesional or is iy standard proceedure at MTN. I feel that these people are taking my personal information for granted and I fear that these people may take up contracts in my name and I find myself paying for something I do no know.
