An upgrade on my account with MTN was done without my knowledge. This happened in mid December of 2015. A person using my identity was using my information and now I am being charged for payments I know nothing about, which is strange because there is a securty password that I am asked for before anything happens with my account. I found this out when one of the consultants phoned me and asked to email a certified copy of my I.D. and proof of address and I told her I didnt do an upgrade. I emailed an affidavit and certified copy of my I.D to the ***** department to stop the upgrade from happening but I still havent gotten feedback. Now my account has been suspended because of MTN's negligence. I keep recieving phone calls from *** as soon as I answer, nobody responds on the other line. When I searched online, there were complaints in connection with the number, many pointing back to MTN and the staff members, which had me suspecting an inside job. I tried resolving the issue through MTN but they have not been helpful because of their own security reasons from the ***** department.
