Forced into 24 month contract when I was told it is Month to month
On the 08th October I spoke to Mpho Mokgejane. I had called in and explained that my line has been suspended while I have cancelled my contract. He explained that I am in a 24month contract and there is no way I have cancelled the contract. I explained that I have called through to retentions multiple times since August the 11th and had finally been able to cancel the contract on the 21st but debits were still going through and I called again in September to cancel. Mpho also says there are no records of calls made to retentions dept by me except for one of the 9th June (I also need this to be investigated further because it is not true).
From what I understood on the 9th June I had called in at retentions dept to put in notice to get my contract cancelled. I spoke to Brian Sibeko who said I will have to call on the 8th August to get my contract cancelled. but offered me a month to month contract of 99rands and said I can still cancel on the 8th August to cancel all the contract but I will need to pay 99rand for the month cancelled. The recording for this day can be checked.
I have been loyal to mtn for many years and I don't expect this treat but yet here we are. I don't want a contract that is why I opted to cancel this year and I can see that I have been cornered into one.
I have since sent an email to the retentions department because aparently managers only respond to queries via email due to covid. Till today there has been no response or acknowledgement to my matter. And I am still getting thretening messages to pay a bill I do not owe.
