For reasons above my reasoning

I am due for an upgrade just over a month from now, and thought maybe I could arrange for MTN to move this up so I could aquire a new handset as my old one was starting to give some serious issues. After visiting my local MTN outlet, they informed me that I would need to first contact MTN and give a valid reason for wanting to upgrade prematurely, which I did. Now the reason why I did this was because I use my phone for work. I work for a company which handles multi-million rand tenders, and cannot afford to NOT have a phone at any given time, as I do 80% of my work on my phone, which was starting to give me hassles by cutting out audio during calls and lasting only between 2-3 hours battery-wise where it used to last 2-3 days. (All of which I believed were valid engough reasons - apparently not)

My reasoning was that I would try and grab the upgrade instead of sending the phone in for repairs and potentially sitting without a phone for 2-3 weeks.

The reply came in the next day, their only reason being that I am currently on my 1st cycle. Now I ask you this...what exactly are valid reasons should they have been persuaded to carry on with the request??

It's utterly unacceptable that MTN as a company would rather sit back and potentially cost me millions in tenders than assist with a premature upgrade 1 MONTH FROM MY OFFICIAL DATE!!?? If their reasoning was that because I am a risk (seeing that this is my first cycle) and that I might end up not paying...which is *******...then their logic is *******. The way they are handling this very simple request is reason enough in itself to cause me to question whether I would want to carry on with my contract at MTN and not just port it anyway.

This is not the first time also where MTN has caused me more headaches than pleasure

Hi Zukiswa Thank you for replying to my post. Thank you for escalating this to your Retentions Management team. I have however not received any feedback as of yet from this department... Is this matter being resolved without any further communication? What exactly was escalated to them? What exactly is the hold-up? Do they require any other information from me?
