Fix your processes and refund my money.
For a huge business like MTN this is very disappointing, disgusting and it is actually a *******. On the 30th of October I was told my contract has contract has expired and the terms to my contract has now changed to month-to-month subscription (from R273.21 to R1186.957). (Mind you, you receive calls from MTN frequently telling you your contract is nearing its expiration take up a new contract, but no one tells you the process of cancellation because in one's mind is "I only have a 24-month contract with MTN so if I don't extent it is logical to terminate the contract".
I did call following days (Early days of November) it is unfortunate I can't pull any audit trail as I had to change laptops. So, I lost it. First time I called I my issue wasn't solved. I was moved from Pillar to post. Apparently since I am an FNB employee my profile is business even though the number in question is consumer. I did make a lot of calls and I was transferred from consumer to business to consumer to business till i was fed up. I then spoke to some colored lady who was willing to help and made a promise to sort this mess up. She then apparently sent emails to her managers to get authority to have my contract cancelled. She was from business if my memory still serves me. She promised to come back to me which she eventually didn't.
I did call after a couple of days and a guy answered. He was from consumer. I told them what happened. He told me he won't stop the November debit order from running but he did promise me he did cancel the contract and there won't be any further debit orders from my account. Today I woke up to a R1300 and some cents debit order from MTN. So, my contract wasn't cancelled.
Every call you make to MTN you are advised "all calls are recorded" this morning I called MTN I cancel the contract and get my refund. 1.3 is a lot of money. I spoke to a lady by Phakamile *** who I asked about the audit trail on my profile. Apparently, she can't see any. I need MTN to do right by me pull every call I made from my *** number with regards to the *** contract. Punish whoever is responsible in initially promising they cancelled my contract then refunding me. I've been with MTN from Primary days my first phone till date. This is the only network I know, and it would be sad for me to move all contracts.
