I phoned the Sales Department, as this is one of the two departments on the MTN website with an actual contact number that you can dial from a landline. I spoke to a very helpful gentleman, who assisted me with my cancellation, even though it's not his job to assist. He didn't transfer me from consultant to consultant, and was so polite.
