FICA REGULATIONS [UNIMPORTANT TO MTN] - LEGAL ACTION
If I could possibly rate less than one star, I would, and that would be generous. MTN, where do I start? In fact, I won't even bother wasting my time on you. And you certainly will never receive another cent from me, and I will actively discourage every person I come across from ever putting a cent your way. To think that I had four lines with you - contracts amounting to over R3,000pm - and through your own incompetence and internal failings, I have walked. And walked across to Vodacome, where, frankly, the service I received was a million times more professional and - ahem - conducted in a manner that does not breach, well, oh so many things. Anyway, I'm sick of repeating myself.
Firstly, the poor, poor service offered by your call centre agents needs reviewing. After loding a complaint, I was told: 1) No legal department 2) Legal department would get back to me (waiting on that call) 3) Legal department only has an unmonitored email address. It's laughable.
But perhaps you speak to Kagiso Monyatsi, Farida Shaik, and then the formidable Phiwokuhle Gasa in your investigations department. I strongly suggest you take a peek through the email trail - and then if you really wish to be amused, perhaps the call records of my phonecalls to MTN over a period of two months in which I was told the most absurd things I have ever in my life heard, some of which were listed above. Speak to the three members of your team above and find out what exactly transpired. Ask why it is that I have not heard from any of them since I requested call recordings. Have a nose into the matter that the three of them seem to think is closed. Frankly, for an area manager, Farida Shaik could not be more insincere if she tried. Farida spend an hour trying to have me migrate to business, despite me repeatedly telling her I wasn't interested. The three of them could not come across professional if they tried.
Fact of the matter MTN: "FICA RECORDKEEPING". As the above three seemingly are clueless when it comes to this, perhaps I should make it quite simple and clear. If MTN does not have a copy of my ID on hand, and have not requested my original ID, and also have DECLINED me offering to submit proof of residential address - are they in compliance with FICA recordkeeping procedures? I think that answer is quite simple. AND YES, MTN, IT GETS BETTER... The three incredibly professional team members above, seem to feel it acceptable that when requested I sign a legal agreement stating that I have submitted the above-mentioned documents, despite not doing so? C'mon. AND WAIT, MTN, IT GET"S BETTER. The manager of your Gateway store, Gail, then says I should sign this agreemnt - putting my signature against false statements - and that they will simply remove the page in question.
MTN, THAT IS ONE SURE FIRE WAY TO GO ABOUT ENSUIRNG FICA COMPLIANCE AND DELIVERING EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. And to the three LOVELY team members mentioned above: what a joke that they feel it acceptable to dismiss this matter as having no serious grounding whatsoever.
When I request that call recordings are made available for my legal representation, what is an acceptable time frame to expect a response to this request MTN. Kagiso appears to believe that weeks may lapse without feeling the need to acknowledge my request. But please do tell me what the time frame would be - MTN is next to impossible to get any reasoning from.
Anyway, long story short. Thanks to the incredibly professional and competent staff at your Gateway store - and then equally thanks to the efficient, thorough and customer-service oriented three team members metioned above - you will soon be facing legal action and you should be well aware that there are strong grounds for this, and that the manner in which this complaint was handled is appalling. And when it comes down to it, you still, do not have those FICA documents on record.
Good luck MTN, and please do me a favour and extend my well wishes to Farida and Kagiso.
