FED up with MTN and VVM legal

I was notified that I have to pay account as it was handed over to vvm collections in September 2017. I made an arrangement to pay the account as well as close it. It is now April 2018, my mtn account was paid up in full as well as cancellation fees given but the account was never closed. I have countless reference numbers and emails about my requests but nothing was done. They are quick to email about their account that needs to be paid or handing people over but cancellation requests are not initiated as per the customer requests. So fed up. VVM legal send email to pay but never send any paid up letter. MTN received their money but still send accounts but it showed in a credit. after I have told them over and over communicate via email as I am not in SA
