A few months ago I posted a review of MTN's horrible service, which hasn't changed... (https://www.hellopeter.com/mtn/reviews/horrific-service-46- ********** )

I am so fed up with them. Seriously. I want out of my contract, I just don't know how to do it or if it's even possible, but I want out. I am not happy with them at all. And this, after being a loyal customer for around six years. Last week I was told by an MTN consultant that I have been paying insurance for over a year for the insurance I had cancelled on the day I upgraded my contract last year. He told me that it showed on the system that my monthly payment included the insurance amount and that I needed to speak to the consultant from the other store who had cancelled it for me and take it up with him. The consultant who upgraded my contract and recommended I take a different insurance did all of that for me last year, but apparently didn't follow through completely in cancelling the existing insurance I had at that time. So I've been paying two insurances for one phone for the last year. Does this mean that I can claim for another phone? Not that I want to. I really just want nothing to do with MTN anymore. I wish I could somehow get out. I have been putting off paying my latest monthly fee, just out of being so frustrated and angry with them.

Best regards,
Thank you to Refilwe Camngca for helping me with the cancellation of the second insurance that was supposed to have already been cancelled. But now I'm still being hassled and threatened by MTN. They're still asking me to pay the price that includes the insurance and threatening to suspend my line if I don't. When will this end? Can a problem not be resolved properly with this company? I refuse to continue to pay for something that was cancelled TWICE! Go ahead and suspend my line if you must. This is just ridiculous! And I can't waste time on the phone trying to get hold of someone who may or may not be able to clarify things. I've spoken to Refilwe about this and she agreed that I should NOT be paying that rate. I mean, it's obvious not to pay for something that does not exist. Unfortunately, she's not in the department to help with this new issue. She said I could call 808 and have someone on that side resolve the issue, or even speak to a supervisor if an agent can't help, but I can't even get through. I think the only time I've really gotten a response out of anyone from MTN was after posting on this site. I guess they only really make any effort to help when people expose their BS publicly. I'm on the verge of speaking to a lawyer to get me out of my contract. If I can't, there'll be a definite migration to prepaid once the contract ends. After SIX years, I'm done with MTN.
