Faulty Xperia M5 wont be accepted for assessment

Customer #A***

Good Day

Last year November I eventually upgraded my Xperia Z1 to an Xperia M5 after a long wait only for the phone to later malfunction.

The camera was the first to go, in December it would sometimes take photos and sometimes wouldn't and when it did the focus took too long. Eventually the camera completely stopped taking photos but that was just the beggining.

Then I noticed when charging and during use the phone would get excessively hot, eventually the phone started switching off and couldn't be switched on unless plugged to a charger.

On 19 i took the device back to the MTN shop at The Glen shopping centre which is where I bought it, I was turned back and told I need to get the box and its contents before the phone can be accepted for a warranty assessment. On the 21 I went back with most of the contents including manuals, box, charger with the exception of the headphones and once again I was turned back.

This is unacceptable, its not the headphones that are faulty but the device

Hello Spice,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kindly note that the reason you need to take everything with you when phone is going for warranty assessment is because it might be replaced with another device which will have its own accessories.

Without all the phone accessories phone cannot be booked for warranty assessment, it can only be booked for repairs.

Rest assured that it is not our intention to displease you and we look forward to continue improving on our service delivery to you.

Kind Regards
Itumeleng
