Faulty New Handset

I took out a contract with MTN on 10/11/2016. When I got home on the 15/11/2016 the phone just went dead, I charged it and still it would not switch on. I sent the phone back to MTN Nedbank Campus (branch where contract taken) to cancel the contract. The staff there convinced me not to cancel the contract they will see what is worng with the phone and that I should leave it in teh store. I came back four hours later and the phone was working. On Saturday 19/11/2016 the phone went blank again. I have been phoneless for the whole weekend. I took the phone in to the shop this morning 21/11/2016 and was told that it would be sent for repairs and will take 3 weeks before I get any response from HVRCrepairs in Cape Town, the lady assisting me (Portia) rudely tells me that if I cant wait 3 weeks I must send the phone to Midrand myself. Now I cannot work and provide for my family for the next 3 weeks because I use the phone to connect to my 3g and work. When I say I want to cancel the contract I am told that the 7 days have passed and I cant but the phone started having problems 4 days after I took it out of the shop and the staff at the shop know this. They refuse to give me a loan phone with internet so I can work instead I was offered a R100 phone with no internet/whatsapp etc. I will also be losing the free 30gb which comes with the contract as I will get my phone in 3 weeks with the data having expired.

I asked the staff at the shop what will happen if this phone comes back from repairs and works for a week and collapses again and they told me they dont know as they have never come across that scenario before. I would like to know the answer to this question and also how am I suppose to provide for my family this December since I cant work.
