My husband got me a phone (Sony M5) on contact (MTN DIRECT) in December 2015 and I had problems with it and returned it to MTN within a month. I asked for a replacement, and got a Huawei Mate 7 after weeks of following up back and forth. I got it on the15th of Feb and barely 2 weeks after getting it the software crashed and I took it in for repairs at MTN Midrand on the 27th of Feb. I got a quotation of R8180.00 via SMS, in other words it needs to be replaced.
Upon inquiry I was told that the volume button had a dent therefore rendering the warranty void. The dent that they are talking about was there when I got the phone (it was couriered) and I did not think anything of it as the buttons were all working. It was only after the software crashed and I took it to MTN was I told that it was a dent.

I am so gatvol with MTN. It's as if they give you faulty devices on purposes. I need to speak to someone who knows what they are talking about. How can the so called \dent\" cause the phone to be a write-off anyway??? I can't pay for something that was already faulty when I got it!!!"
