False/Misleading Pronotion
False or misleading promotion: I received an sms indicating that if I recharge with R60 I will receive 300mb free data valid for 24 hours. After recharging no data was received. Called the call centre and was told that one can only receive the data if airtime is purchased on MTN App yet their promotion sms doesn't state that. Thus misleading especially for a big company like MTN. Stop doing business like the fly by night companies. Why not mention that the data will only be received if airtime is purchased vis the App? Is that difficult to tell your customers? 3. I recharged with R60 and received R50 or R60 free airtime valid for 24 hours. The purchase was done at 14h20 on Thursday, the airtime was supposed to expire on Friday by 14h20. Yet by 06h30 on Friday, all the airtime was gone even though I did not make a call using that airtime. I also bought R25 airtime at 21h05 on Thursday. Again I received free airtime valid for 24 hrs. Yet again by Friday 06h30 all that was gone. I had not even made a call. Why then lie and say the free airtime is valid for 24 hrs yet it doesn't even last 10hrs. I don't expect that from MTN. In poor countries like Malawi and Zambia, the service providers there have integrity. Whatever they promise, you get to the fullest. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about MTN SA. It's a SHAME INDEED!!
