False information
REF: #*** I was out of the country for a period of more than 3 months and when I came back my MTN sim card couldn't register to MTN network, I then sent an email to MTN to ask if there is any problem and they advised that my number was recycled because of 90 days period of inactivity which I understood.
I requested to be directed to such policy on their public domain but they have failed.
Now I understand why customers are porting their MTN numbers to Vodacom. One consultant told me that I can still keep my number only if I can migrate it to a contract and the other one said something completely different that i will never get my number back as it is now recycled and has been given to another user.
Now i am a bit confused because people working in the same company share different information about the same issue.
The risk that it poses when MTN gives your number to 3rd party without your knowledge is that your number is associated with almost all your digital accounts and this means you might fall victim of any crime on your digital accounts.
MTN is a poor service provider and their consultants contradict each other with dealing with an issue.
