False Advertising and *********** customers

I have app**** for the MTN Big Booster Deals as advertised in the montly Yello Deals February Edition 2017. Wanting to apply for the LG G4 contract for R379pm, I was inform that there was no stock of the LG phone. I then decided to go with the R529pmx24 deal. The sales person went to the back of the store to confirm that he has stock of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (64GB) phone. I have again ask him if its the phone as advertised as the S6 Edge Plus with 64GB internal memory and he again confirmed that he has it in stock and colour available only in Black Sapphire. I then signed up for this contract deal as advertised to receive as stated a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + (64GB) Top Features: 5.7" Screen with Ultra-slim Bezels Dual-edge Display + 50GB Data and 10 000 MTN-to-MTN minutes per month for 24 months. Included is a 100 AnyTime Minutes + 100 SMSs + 30GB Free Data once off and includes Free Samsung Wireless Charger. I received congratulations from MTN within 2 days that my application has been approved. I went to the store to complete and to collect the deal provided. The sealed phone box was opened and to check if everything was in order. I then noticed that the internal memory of the phone is 32GB and not 64GB as advertised. I have now not received the 64GB phone as per the deal and not happy at all. I am replacing my Samsung Note 3 with the above phone as the screen is the same size and require the memory to be 64GB as a memory card cannot be added. According to the system, stock is available at the Mthatha MTN store but no effort was made to move the stock. I expect MTN to provide me with the full package deal as advertised and to find me the correct phone as specified.

Reviewer Update

Hi Siphumezo,

It's been now more than 2 weeks and still this is not resolved yet. This is not going away by itself. I expect MTN to resolve this and come back to me. I have only received a call from the shop recommending to give me a 32gb memory card to place into the phone that hasn't got n slot for that. Please get someone to contact me that knows the products. I would really like to use my new device as it's been kept in its box in case it needs to be returned. This is now really dragging too long. Further action will be taken by next week.
