False advertising

Two years ago I got caught out by MTN's false advertising. This year I'm a little wiser due to my 2022 experience. I wish to warn others not to fall into the same trap. I saw that I was due an upgrade on 5 Feb 2024. In fact, it said my upgrade was overdue! But my current plan only expires on 5 May 2024. So I called MTN and queried the notification stating that 2 years previously when I'd been advised of my upgrade being available I'd then been slapped with a hefty "early cancellation" fee. The very helpful call centre agent advised me that I was indeed due an early upgrade BUT that there'd be an early upgrade fee. Furthermore, I should have been informed by the sales person of these costs backin 2022. Guess what. I was neither informed that it was an "early" upgrade nor that there'd be costs involved. No matter how much I objected and complained to MTN it fell on deaf ears. Why do I say MTN is practicing false advertising? NOWHERE does it state in the wording about it being an EARLY upgrade nor that there are PENALTY FEES involved. Neither do I recall either having the sales person advising me of these facts nor having signed an agreement to these terms. MTN stop hoodwinking your customers. It's tantamount to theft!!!!
