My phone Sony Xperia Z was sold to me 2 years ago by MTN in Canal Walk on a pretence that the phone is water resistant and can be used under water up to 1 metre deep for 30 minutes. Upon trying to capture a picture under water in a baby pool, my phone died and has not gone back on. All seals on the phone were closed before attempting to capture a picture.

Monday, 8 Feb '15 I took my phone to MTN Canal Walk and was assisted by the exact same sales person (Wayne Kayser) that sold the phone to me. I was told that I should bring the charger the Tuesday so that they can send the phone to their Repair Centre.

Tuesday, 9 Feb '15, phone was taken with the charger and was assisted by a different consultant. She did not know what to do and went to her colleague Yaseen who also knew nothing. Both of them then consulted Wayne and Wayne advised them to call the repair guy. Apparently the repair guy advised that I should claim from the insurance. My phone was sent the 10 Feb and was told that I might need to pay R330 for them to look at the phone

I've contacted Head Office 3 times and no one has bothered to get back to me in 3 days!!! I REFUSE TO CLAIM FROM INSURANCE its a manufacturing issue
