Failure to cancel contract: legal action being initiated

On July 30th 2018, I sent notification to MTN via email of my intention to cancel a data contract (A ********** ) with them, as I was (and have now done so) planning to emigrate to New Zealand. The contract in question was on a month-to-month basis. Reference ********** 0 was given by MTN.

This cancellation was acknowledged by the retentions department the same day with reference ********** 1. A final invoice was generated on August 24th 2018.

However, despite notice of cancellation being sent and acknowledgement received as such, I have been invoiced and debited for both September and October (invoices E ********** 71 and E ********** 61). Emails to the customer care department and the retention department concerning this have been ignored.

MTN is hereby advised that I am initiating legal action to: a) instruct MTN to cease and desist invoicing and billing me in future, and b) to claim the following amounts from MTN: the full amounts plus 10% interest in invoices E ********** 71 and E ********** 61, as well as a fee of NZ$75.00 for my time taken in dealing with this matter.
