Since Tuesday a ******** has been attempting to port my Vodacom contract number to the MTN network. Though Vodacom has been declining the request, I have raised this issue with MTN to stop any port requests in connection with my number. However my pleas to MTN have fallen in deaf ears. In fact they have not even responded. Today it's the third day this ******** has been attempting to port my number to the MTN network and I continue to receive the same message.
Now a question should be asked, why is the ******** using the MTN network? The easiest answer is that MTN network systems makes it easy for ********* to use their network and MTN doesn't seem to care. Why not block certain numbers from porting where complaints have been raised especially of suspicions of *****? I wonder if what MTN wants is a lawsuit in order to finally do something. I am now getting used to this harra*****t and attempts at ***** and thanks to MTN this will continue. I wonder what would have happened if my number so desired by this ******** was on the MTN network? I would have lost money a long time ago.
Good day,
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
There are quite a few ****s out there that involve these kind of porting.
Please be very careful and do not take heed to these ****s, insure that you block these requests. Note that your network provider can never authorise a porting without your say so. This is not MTN related, and I regret to inform that we have no control over this. They have started to spread like wildfire amongst many subscribers of all networks.
Never under any circumstances send your personal details to any 3rd part via email / sms or even telephonically.
