Extremely slow internet speed

I am connected via LTE/HSDPA in Potchefstroom, but at the moment I struggle a lot to connect to the internet and when I am connected, the speed is really slow. I asked around if other people have the same problem and they also have the same problem as I do. The ping/latency is really high at almost 500ms and the connection speed is at 0.01 Mbps even when I'm connected via LTE. The signal also jumps from no signal at all to full signal, which is also strange because my 3G/LTE router is sitting in the same position all the time. Even when I disconnect from the router and just use my phone, exactly the same happens. This is insane and I am really frustrated as this has been going on for weeks now. This is why I am finally deciding to complain. I am really furious about the pathetic service I'm getting from MTN with regards to fixing this problem. Please respond ASAP and attend to this problem.
