Extremely Poor Service

I have sent the below email to MTN and copied and pasted it on your website

Dear MTN

I would like to begin with stating I have been an MTN subscriber for the past 6 – 8 years give or take and I have enjoyed the better part of the years not having much issues with the company.

Last week Monday unfortunately my phone got ******, I never renewed contract I with MTN about 2 years ago so I went through to the Parow Centre branch (lower level) (Western Cape). I app**** for a contract and chose the Huawei P8 Lite and was advised by the consultant that stock was not available and it would need to be sourced from another store. Latest that I would need to wait would be Thursday 08.12.2016. I was fine with that and advised the consultant I would wait.

I returned to the store on 08.12.2016 and was advised by the consultant that the phone had not yet arrived it should be there by tomorrow, which was Friday. Still I was patient and said it was fine I can hold out for another day, Friday came and I called the Parow centre branch. Spoke with another consultant and she then advised that the phone was sourced from N1 City branch and will only be delivered to the branch on Monday.

Extremely frustrated because I classify the people I was dealing with has **** to me, so that means MTN has **** to me. I informed I cannot wait till Monday because that was not part of what was said, I informed the consultant that I would like to cancel the contract application. I also wanted confirmation to state my application was cancelled and received an email to confirm. I attached the email.

I then called your Tygervalley branch on the 09.12.2016 spoke to a gentleman by the name of Devon or Dillon he advised that there was enough stock available, I informed that I will come through to the branch after 5. As I confirmed I was there after 5pm filled and signed my application and was stated it would take 2 – 24 hours for approval.

I returned to the store on Saturday afternoon after 2pm and was advised that they are still waiting on approval. I would get a call on Sunday as arranged I gave my girlfriends number to get hold of me on.

Today is Monday the 12.12.2016 and guess what no call, nothing to confirm what is going on. Yet again MTN has **** to me as it was stated it would take 24 hours for approval.

It is insane that MTN Tygervalley has a contact number ( ********** 475 and ********** 679) but there is never people that answer on the other side.

My question is what type of operation is MTN running? For the biggest network in Africa it looks extremely mediocre to me. I myself work for big company and experience teething problems, that’s part of business but I mean applying for a contract that only costs R169 a month and continuosly getting **** to is not part of teehting problems. Being **** to is a big ethical problem and I certainly would not want to be associated with a company that does not base it's foundation set on principles. How much hassles does one need to go through. Do I rather apply for a contract at another service provider?

Name : Angelo Paul Schaffers

I.D : ********** 143082

Contact : **********

Email : **********
