I recently took out a contract with MTN for two phones, which were sold to me at R399 per phone. I clearly confirmed this amount with the consultant during the sales call. However, after receiving the devices and calling in to check if my SIMs were RICA’d, I was shocked to find out that each phone is actually R499 – not the agreed R399.

This is a blatant misrepresentation, and I feel completely deceived. What’s the point of recorded calls if consultants can still lie without accountability? I trusted the information I was given, and now I’m left with a contract that’s more expensive than what I was promised.

I am demanding answers and resolution. This kind of dishonest practice is unacceptable. I urge everyone to be extremely cautious when dealing with MTN consultants – do not take their word at face value, even on a recorded line.
