Extreme bad customer service
I realized in July 2018 that my MTN contract was upgraded without my knowledge and permission in November 2017. Upon following up with MTN, they told me that it was upgraded in Durban in a shop next to Gateway. I told them that I have no knowledge of such. And I would like to see the signatures used to do this upgrade, which I never received. They advised me to get affidavit from the nearest police station, then submit it to the nearest MTN shop. Which I did on the 6th of July 2018. The store manager was very helpful. He reported my case to the MTN system, sent all the information i.e. proof of payment, proof of deductions from the bank. The contract was successfully closed. They further promised that my money deducted without my permission will be returned to me, approximately R8000. I have calling MTN 135 to follow up on the progress. I have hundreds of reference numbers where MTN employees from the call centre are blaming each other that my problem was not logged and recorded correctly. In October, I was told that only half of what was due to me will be paid. I querried that but I ended up accepting it. I was told to wait for 21 working days, which was to end on the 14th of November 2018 and the money will reflect. No money has been paid till today. MTN call centre said they do not know what to do anymore becasue credit management needs to do the payment. I was given a number to call them. I called them and the answering machine said my call will be attended to as soon as the next consulted is available. And so I held the line for 3 hrs but no one picked up till I decided to drop it.This has been happening for the past 6 months. To date I do not have my money back. And no one seems to know what is the problem. My contact number is **********
