My wife and I went into the MTN store for a simcard upgrade (she's moving from a smart phone to a tablet). She has been a MTN client for YEARS and has supp**** all the necessary security documentation in the past. She was asked for proof of ID and presented her drivers license. This was not acceptable and a 'bar coded' ID was requested. My wife and I DON'T HAVE bar coded ID's. Surely a drivers license with ID number and picture is sufficient proof for a LONG STANDING client ??
The shop assistant said the safety measures were due to excessive *****. How could a long standing client who asks for a simple simcard replacement be a ***** risk to MTN ????
Without a bar coded ID, how are we expected to please the MTN security requirements ???
