I have been a very loyal mtn customer for about 17 years now. I have always been boasting about my amazing signal service and never having issues what so ever. Yet here I am forced to to right this reveiw. i recieved a sms saying my account has exceeded the credit limit.... ever since I can remember my account has been on debit order and i have the proof of payments as proof. Okay so this is a small thing to complain about, but the real reason behind this review is the customer service call centre. it is absolutely imposible to get a hold of anyone. I have been phoning since the moment i recieved the sms and yes... 3 hours later i still have only listened the the lady (with the very calm tone that frustrates the living hell out of every single persone phoning in) that gives the instruction prompts only to listen to the worst elevator music only to be cut off the a dead silence. No answer. No ringing. Nothing!!! Now in this day and age it is very difficult to right a review without using the the strong language one is thinking of when you feel the way I do... I really hope to get some form of response from this

Kind Regards

Hugo Hewitt

Thank you for your post.
We apologize for any inconvenience incurred.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my call, it’s highly appreciated.
On your MTN account you do have a credit limit of R534. The system will use the un-billed invoice balance (not as yet finalized) once your invoice balance total reach near the 90% of the credit limit balance the system will then suspend the line for outgoing calls due to the invoice for March will only be finalized and added to the account on the 19th of March.
The credit limit cannot be removed from the account due to this is a requirement from the law for accounts to be activated with a credit limit the credit limit is a internal monitored tool.
The credit limit do not play any part with the usage limit and payments made to the account.
As per our online discussion we have set up the credit limit to R620.00 to avoid for the line to be suspended once the credit limit is reached before the un-billed invoice for March is added. The credit limit is now set up for R620.00.
You have a usage limit set up for the account not to be billed extra for data or calls.
Kind Regards,
