Endless MTN Contract Payments

In March 2019, 2nd, I took out three 24-months contracts at the MTN, Mall of the North, Polokwane. I was helped by Mr Mpho Lebeya.

The total monthly payment was R1,737 to be billed at the beginning (1st) of each month. He informed me that since it's already the 2nd, I would get billed for March with April on April 1st. On the 1st of April I was charged double the monthly payment as agreed. And from then I have been paying at the beginning of each month.

The contracts are stated that they end on the 28th February 2021, which means my last payment, my 24th payment would be on the 1st of February 2021, as I started paying from March 2019.

I just spent 3 weeks trying to cancel these contracts. I spend about 2 hours on the line and every time someone answers I am told I need to pay a certain amount, I pay it, then I call again to cancel, I am told to pay another amount, and so on. I was then informed the amount I should pay was for March. I was perplexed because my contracts end on the 28th of February 2021. And I had already paid at the beginning of the month and paying the March installment would be me paying for 25 months not 24. I was told their system shows March 1st. They then changed the story and told me it's an amount that was not paid in May 2019. I had never skipped a month when paying and invoices are generated on the 12 of each month (they told me) so I don't understand why a 2019 amount would not appear in over 12 invoices and only appear now in February.

I was so tired of spending my time and energy with this mtn matter so I just paid everything they told me to pay just to have these contracts cancelled. But I am so disappointed with their service and their lack of transparency.
