Empty Promises, Lies and horrible customer service

I went to the MTN store a week before the release of the new iphone 7 to enquire about prices. I spoke to Kyle Johnson, who informed me that the prices were not available yet and that he would call me as soon as the prices are out.

On Friday 14 October, he gave me a call and informed me what the prices were. I asked him whether he can process my request telephonically/ via email so that I can just come in on the Saturday to finalise the paperwork and collect the phone. He informed me that he could and that he would send me the contract via email for my signature and hold the phone for me; and that this would be done on the same date (14 October ). I informed him that while I may have the all the documents, I do not have a stamped bank statement and that he should inform me if that is an issue so I can get it to him on the Saturday morning.

He proceeded to send me an email, requesting all the application documents. In my response, I sent him all the requisitite documents. This email was send at about 10:25AM.
Not having heard anything back from him, at about 5PM, I contacted the store to find out what the progress of my application was. The lady who picked up the phoen (either Precious or Thembi) informed me that they were not in front of their laptop and that I should leave my name and number and they would call me back.

Instead of a call back, I received an email from Kyle a few minutes later (at 05:27) stating as follows:

"Hi, Application is still processing but will mail you the documents as seen the system allows me to.

Regards

Kyle"

I never received any documents or any call. I proceeded to call the store again just after 6PM and there was no answer.

At about 8AM on Saturday morning, I received a call from Kyle, informing me that he needs me to come into the store to process some final documents and that this process would take about 30 minutes, following which I will have to wait for credit vetting.

Not understanding why I needed to go through credit vetting if the application was 'processing' the day before, I gave Kylethe benefit of the doubt and proceeded to the store.

The store was full and there was a queue, so I waited my turn and proceeded to the next available consultant. I spoke to a male ( I didn't get his name) and informed him that Kyle assisted me the day before and that he said I needed to come in for a few final things. The consultant asked me for my ID number, then went to Kyle to try and understand the issue with my application. He returned with all my application documents and informed me that my application was never logged on the system, that there is no 'pending' application, that he had to start a new application and that I would have to wait until Tuesday to get my phone as they were out of stock.

My confusion is that I had been informed the day before that 'my application was in process' which gave me the impression that everything had been processed as promised. Further, at no point did Kyle come to me while I was in the store, to explain why he **** about the progress of my application or to at least apologise and explain what happened. Having been very clear about my time constraints, I would have appreciated some honesty and effeciency when dealing with my request. I would have then availed myself to other avenues if I had known that my request would not be processed and that I would be treated like I didn't exist by the person who promised to assist me.

I am very disappoited at the manner this was handled.
